Welcome of Mrs. Amanda WRIGHT LANE
The Le Mans Sarthe Wright 2008 Centennial Committee welcomed once more with great pleasure Mrs. Amanda WRIGHT LANE, during a party especially organized for her. Beside Centennial Committee and Aero Retro teamworks many partners and sponsors of the 2008 Centennial were present : Souriau Group, ACO (the world famous Automobile Club of Le Mans, organizer of the Le Mans 24 Hour automobile grand prix), cities of Le Mans, Coulaines (sister city of Kitty Hawk, NC), Champagne and Pau (through Pau Wright Aviation association), Sarthe department general Council, MG Entreprises and Dairon companies, Le Mans Chamber of Commerce (manager of Le Mans airport), Bollée Family with two of its proeminent representants, Mr. Gerard and Mr. Francois BOLLEE. Thanks also to the Pau Wright Aviation delegation with its President, Mrs. Carroll d'ARCIMOLES and its loyal right hand Mr. paul MIRAT.
Beside the flights of the only WRIGHT FLYER 1908-1909 flying replica existing in world, due to the talented official pilot Jef JACQUELIN, everybody had the opportunity to watch some flying experimentations performed with a WRIGHT FLYER model with video camera aboard piloted by its designer Sylvain VALLEE, and the first presentation of the historical hat of Wilbur WRIGHT - Aero Cap - re-designed by the local modist, Mrs. Celine ROBERT. Thus locals expressed their talent for the joy of the public.
